Salty Studio & The Stories of Those around Me

I've finished Salty Studio few days ago, and just like The Stories of Those around Me I love it so much. These two webtoons were created by Omyo. They had common characters with realistic feelings and toughts. The problems were the usual problems that could easily appear in our lives but we have no idea what will be the end - since nothing is certain and
everything is possible in this world, right?
I feel close to these webtoons, probably because the main characters ware about twenty five years old just like my age now. I will briefly share my thought after read my-durably-favorite webtoons, The Stories of Those around Me and Salty Studio. When I was reading them, I laughed because they're funny, I melt because they're romance, and I was sad because they also had sad parts.

The first figure I want to show is Togeun (a man character from Salty Studio) who gave up on his passion and came back to his parents' house after he ran away and quarreled with his father. His father gave him a year to prove that he could be success with his passion, but he didn't make it. His story made me realized that there are times when we have to sincerely receive and move on. Just like Jung-A and Jungsang (a couple from The Stories of Those aroud Me), they finally broke up after spending time during years. People are unable to keep things which aren't their fate. After that, all they need to do is let go. Summer's story (a woman character from The Stories of Those aroud Me) remains that commitment is important and it always comes together with choice.

The romance parts took place in these webtoons. The characters fell in love in not so mysterious ways like Ed Sheeran song, but like usual drama. Mira was in love at the first sight with Peace. Willow was in love with Yohan because Yohan is loveable enough to be loved. Togeun was in love with Sonagi as they spent a lot of time together with sweet-bitter circumstances happend around them. Summer was in love with Sunoh because somehow she was jealous seeing him closer with another woman. Jung-A was in love with Jungsang because he was her comfort zone. Whether they're finally together or not, I can't tell here. If you're getting confused with names I suddenly summon without a clear story, you may need to read these webtoons too. :)

Eventually, it's not about being protagonist or antagonist. It's only the characters and the stories they have to follow. I love all the characters occurs in these webtoons, with their imperfect personalities which are show that they're ordinary humans. The stories is beautiful, as beautiful as the drawings.

I took one quote from Salty Studio: "I wanted it to be sweet, but it wasn't always that way. Some smiles were sweet, but there were also salty tears, hot angers, and bitter despairs. It wasn't sweet, but it was fine."

Life is not always about happiness. Sometimes problems come and make plot twist. While everyone plans and guesses what will happened next, but still no one knows what will life exactly bring for us. I tought bitter-sweet life is sweet.

Thanks for reading. :)

Surat Soe Hok Gie - Film Gie

Saya akan membuat tulisan tentang in...
